The Larsen effect: whistle

The Larsen effect: whistle

This effect occurs when an amplified sound source (such as a loudspeaker) and the receptor (such as a microphone) of an audio system are placed close to one another. The sound emitted by the source is received by the receptor, which amplifies it and retransmits it to the source. This signal is once again received by the source, reamplified, and so on.
